we did a new road race course east of town, rolling hills with a few hard climbs for 100 miles total. the bunch kept on splitting and coming back together, i was in no less then 5 breaks and there was no way it was going ot be a big bunch kick. i saved it for later, just followed and conserved, and then started riding in the last half of the last lap when i made a break of 12. there was still not much cohesion, big names trying to sit on and play little games, and then a few guys who were hurting pretty bad. we got rid of them on a short 1 mile climb, brought it down to 7, and then Rory Sutherland did a big attack with 10 k to go. we rode him down, but i could tell guys were about at the limit, so i hit out on a little riser and got a gap i extended out to about 10 seconds. rode in the last 5k but i was dying at the end and Wohlberg was coming up quick in the last 500 meters and was right behind me as i posted it for my forst NRC win of the year. Yeah! i haven't seen the time gaps but i'll be going into the TT tomorrow with a bit of a buffer so i'm pretty well off. i hope the TT goes well and i'm just focusing on that for now. it's exciting for the team to be getting good results and the guys really are riding well, everyone was active and did a great job. More later.
