Happy Father's Day
i had a great inaugural and first annual Father's Day, goldi, chase and i went to Berkeley to be with my dad and gramps, we flew kites at the marina and BBQ'ed. then, we went to the steam trains up in the hills and had some fun with chase. he was a bit apprehensive about the train but i'm sure he'll come around to it soon. he liked the locomotives in the roundhouse, they were not hissing and steaming and were behind glass, so maybe it was a bit safer.
i think being a father has made me really reconsider what i think is important in life. i keep thinking about how much my family means to me and how important time and energy spent on them is now; ironically, with less time spent on worrying about cycling and "work" i'm doing much better at it. the hard work on the bike comes easily now, the motivation to succeed and perform are external now.
