The Canyon is open

Day 18 of the 30 day challenge is in the books, i got four hours on the fixed gear and rode over eureka canyon, which is now free of construction! what a nice piece of pavement, a little guard rail to keep things safe, its the best section of the whole road! i will say it was nice to not have to barge through the construction zone, wobbling through gravel and barricades to get through.

im not sure on this 30 day thing.  it’s not really killing me, so i suppse im getting stronger, but man am i tired.  last year i would go out on the mountain bike and feel like i was really stomping hard to get round, you know, getting my muscle tension work out in.  After riding the Fixie everywhere, the mountain bike is pretty easy going, the gear never really seems to get hard.  i guess its all about comparison, but im now treating my MTB days like a rest day.  As a bonus, i get to coast down hills on the mtb.

as you can tell by the pic, its still beautiful in cali, the heat wave of last week is over but the wind is still warm and the views are sweeping.  seriously, how can you not go out on huge rides when its 80-85 degrees on the weekend!?! don’t worry, i know we’re going to get a bunch of rain soon enough and just talking about how nice it is right now will be worth an extra week of solid rain to even out the karmic scales.  S’okay, its still worth it.
