It’s game on tomorrow, we leave for the Tour de San Luis in Argentina and 8 days of racing. i’m not expecting a huge smashup, as there are a lot of big teams coming in for training miles and good weather, but you never know, the locals are in summer form and its their chance to show how its done, kinda like me next month in Cali.
I got the new Pinarello Prince, one word: Sweet. Campy Record 11-speed is darn nice too, the hoods feel great in your hands and it has that typical campy buzz, which i like. I’ve been putting some good miles in to make sure it works and make sure i work, i can’t complain about either one. all in all, I’m in better form then in any previous January, though i have not had to do any stage races this early before either so it’s a wash in my mind.
the BISSELL Boss Glen finally had his new baby, Kira, and the first time i talked to him after he was wondering how i ever trained while in that “new parent” state. yeah, me too, i don’t really remember training per se but i have data logs from the SRM that said i went out for 4 hours, so i must have. i do remember after three weeks needing to take a day off and relax, so i went to a cross race. when a cross race is relaxing, you know you’ve been working hard.
It’s been near-summer conditions in cali lately, downright hot out and easy to get the hours done. shorts and jersey the last three days, i even had to pull out the sunblock. i’m sure we’ll make up the balance later, for all of you making plans to come out right now there’s rain solid for next week. Check out some pics:
A great day at the beach with the kids, Chloe is talking a ton and being very adventurous.
a beautiful sunset.
My little angel. that’s a 49 tooth.
And here’s my new car, for when i finally grow old enough to have a midlife crisis. Fisker S.
Okay, i hope to have some good stories of racing down south, and if the iphone works i might have some pics.
