Man, what a good month.
Man, what a hard month.
I’ve been rolling well for the last five weeks, and i think things are right where they need to be. i’ve got the time to do what i need to do before racing commences, and things have been going well on the bike so far. only a little bit of a head cold for a few days from long miles in the rain, otherwise the body has been strong and responsive.
what i’ve been able to do is not think about how much i’ve been working and how smashed in i have been feeling, and just get out and do the right thing. and by the right thing, i mean hard tempo in the crosswinds or five hours in the rain. there have been hard moments, coming home having been numb and shivering for an hour or three, but its also been a bit of nice weather recently so that makes you forget and cherish the good stuff.
So now a bit of rest, a nice new years, then back on it into the southern hemisphere and some hardcore training/racing. then training camp, a little thing called ToC (i think about it all the time), and maybe a bit of euro racing in March. sounds hard, better get back to work.
